Has any one caught any fish in Baltimore harbor this year?

Does that include 3-eyed, glowing fish? LOL. I hadnt heard of any being caught. Can fish really survive in the harbor? That water seems to get even more polluted every year.

The boaters catch them on a regular basis. I went past Harbor Hospital earlier in the week and there were about a dz. people fishing. Must be something there. I like to eat what I catch so I shy away from fishing the harbor. Too many resident fish there.

I didn't know it was that polluted. Thanks.

LOTS of small striper in the summer. Had a reel blow up on me last year when I got into a school of blues right next to Wal-Mart between Ft. McHenry & the Hanover St. bridge. All in all, it can be good fun but I sure wouldn't eat anything from the harbor!

Since I fish on a yak I can use light tackle and have a good time with the smaller fish, but I take a scalding hot shower when I get off the water, just to be on the safe side.

In between getting my boat ready or if I'm just hanging out at the marina - I'd usually throw a small jig out under the docks. The perch are HUGE since I believe most folks just practice catch and release (these fish have three eyeballs anyway). I have caught some decent Rockfish all the way up to near Fells Point in the Fall - usually on bass jigs. I have never had luck with cut bait. I'm hoping on getting out to the bay this weekend.
