Got done with my meetings a little early today, and fished the Cape Henlopen Pier from 3:30p - 8p.

It took me a while to figure it out, but after watching a more local fellah catch a flounder, I got the hang of it.

Caught / Released 7 flounder 14" to 18" in that time; 3 caught on cut spot and 4 caught on white-super-fluke jig.

Got the first one in the first hour; then the next 6 in the last hour; half on the end and half by the beach.

A few folks being louder than they should of been reminded me of my few years spent in Delaware.

I still don't understand the DNR's refusal to put and police garbage cans on the pier; the garbage that folks create on that pier generally stays on that pier until it blows off into the water.

But I'm sure DNR knows what it's doing.

Delaware doesn't have sales tax, does it. No wonder the state roads there are crappy too. I don't mind paying taxes sometimes.

Its glad to see your up arround my way;and you made out ok with the fish. Are you stickin arround?I'm going to IRI this weekend to hook up with some Flounder.Thats the best place to go when the water temp is around 70F or higher. Its a good idea to wear Korkers if your goin to fish the north pocket.

He was an older guy; pretty nice, I remember talking to him last year I was there.

He was using the White Super Fluke and Squid that I copied ... all his gear was in a little fannypack type carryall.

There was a flat-top haircutted fellah getting there with a pullcart when I was leaving. One of his rods was rigged with an Orange Leadhead and a White Super Fluke, I noticed.

See people notice these things, and some of us watch how folks work their rods too and some of us even learn a little bit.

Big Jeff ... I am already gone.

My Cape Henlopen escapades are usually 1 day in the spring / summer and 1 day in September when I schedule my trips up that way.

cape henlopen pier has a carry on carry off policy. i'm sorry to say it doesn't work too good. but it is collected every morning. it is not left for the wind to blow away. there used to be trash cans on the pier, but the drunks would throw them overboard when they had a bad day ornight. the problem is the people themselves. they are to lazy to carry it off . their homes must be pigsties. i see it almost every day.i could go on and on but i'm sure you get my drift.
