I grew up down along the Brunswick Co beaches, but have been gone for over 20 years.
Recently got stationed in Goldsboro. Can someone point me to (closest) good surf fishing location so I can introduce my son to surf fishing. I know the obvious is DUE EAST, but not real familiar with Onslow Bay or the Outer banks.
Thx

Well, know it's not until December, but one can learn alot at the KHIII affair, ask Al, but in all seriousness, just get to the beach, read the water, cross your fingers, and remember, it's called fishing and not catching, so just kick back and enjoy your time on the sand with your son!
Have Jeep will travel :D

1. Bodie Island
2. Mann's Harbor Bridge
3. All of the piers in Nags Head area can be good,as well as all those on HI,great place to take a youngen for seamullet, bluefish, and such..
4. Many sound turnoffs,New Inlet on Pea Island can be good for wading after specks,IMHO the ones south of Rodanthe are the best..
5.Looking for spots along N beach can be productive as well as the spots on S beach past the point, and Hat Inlet..
As you see,a broad area,IMO,taking a youngen along, the piers would be the best bet as far as eating fish and keeping him happy with a bowed up rod..
