What a great day to be on the Outer Banks. Temperatures into the mid 60s, sunny skies and no end to the fish.

We loaded the rigs and left Nags Head for Oregon Inlet at 5:30 this morning. Something told us to continue south and we decided to hit a few holes in the area around Ramp 30. We had the rods in the water and coffee brewing in time to see the sunrise. What a sight.

Before we could finish our first cup we had fish on and it continued like that for the entire day. We loaded two coolers with sea mullet, croaker and spot. The fishing was so good we released every sea mullet that was under 12". Just before we packed it in, we landed two bluefish, one on cut-bait and one on metal. Dessert was two drum, one in the slot and one well over. Both were released, as were the blues.

After more fish cleaning than I would have liked, we sat down for our traditional Mother's Day fish-fry/BBQ.

Days like this are few and far between and having family all together to enjoy it was truly special. Hoping your Mother's Day was the same.
