Water temps are coming up so it shouldn't be long for the OBX. After switching weeks and either being early or late the last few yrs I am doing the same week as last yr. Hopefully I'll get another one this yr especially since I'm gonna be in the Roost tourney. ;)

Last yr predicted a bad yr,wound up a good yr for OI and one of the sorriest yrs from Buxton point>>south,in yrs!

Catto has only caught two this yr in Hat,and is beside himself.. Today water temps went from 57 topping out at 64,varying with tides.. Hard to say what those fish will do,could bypass altogether and head straight for Chesapeake Bay..

A friend and I (who has fished many yrs with me) were discussing the "cold pocket" that surrounded Hat Island back in the early 80's. Same deal water temps were down out to 100ft plus of water! But niether of us remember it staying past April, this is going to be a strange yr.. We can only hope it will be a good one in the long run..

we caught 2 cobes yesterday in Myrtle Beach off of the APache pier, weighing in at 42lb, and 62lb. There have been several more sighted, and one more hooked and lost at gaffs (mine GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR).

We had a cobia strike last Friday at the Jolly Roger (Topsail Beach) and seen another one. The spanish finally showed up yesterday morning along with blues. No huge amounts yet but the ones caught were nice!

That's how the spanish always start. You see a few big ones, then they fill in later numbers wise. Shortly thereafter there should be some brown ones.

I've got a stanky skunk following me around this year. It's time to shake him off.

Yup. I cleared it with the woman. We need to discuss game plan though. I think the world has changed since last time we fished.
