Help on the Crystal Coast

My wife and I are heading to Beaufort for Memorial Day weekend. We're taking the boat and the surf rods. Haven't seen any reports from this area - (i.e., Atlantic Beach, Intercoastal waterway, Back Sound, Bogue Sound, Core Sound, etc.). What's biting? Any suggestions about what to target in this srea - where whne and how would be really appreciated.

They're flat killin' the panfish at Bogue Inlet Pier (EI) and Sportsman's Pier (AB). It's been steady blues up to 10lb, smacks to 5lb, seamullets, pomps, and black drum.

Thanks for the quick reply. BTW - any decent drift fishing from boats in that area?

In the sound, I suppose... you have to work to find the holes or else play chicken with the big boats in the channels.
