custom surf rod

i am thinging about getting a custom surf rod when i get to hatteras is weekend (casting) i will be using it to cast bait ,any advice .

What are you fishing for? Casting bait for mullet is totally different that casting bait for drum.

Many different options in custom drum rods Lami which RDT sells,Breakaway at Hatteras Jacks,Purglas and all the above at TW'S..

I'm not sure about TW'S,but I'm pretty sure Hateras Jack's and Red Drum Tackle will let ya test drive them before ya actually buy one. Don't be in too big a rush to get one,try as many out as you can before decideing...

I have a 1 piece Key Largo heaver 11 ft. I bought it for my daughter to use as an anchor rod for king fishing. Well, she isn't interested so it's for sale. It's never been used. Would make a good drum rod also. I'll knock off at least $50.00 for anyone interested and will pay shipping.

thanks for the good advice drumdrum ,i didnt no that you could test one out first. i will be using it for drum and stripers.
