Ocean crest hasnt had a big king run this year so far. Are they not going to have one. One thing I have noticed is alot of bluefish. How far off shore are the kings?

1000yds off Bogue Inlet Pier in Emerald Isle, according to the pier reports. They watch the fleet hang just offshore every day catching 'em by the bushel.

Yep, that's right. The kings are moving in north this year above Wilmington according to some reliable sources. Depe at the Jolly Roger thinks he had a king strike yesterday on a float rig. He said it sounded good!!! Boy, if we could match last year's fall run this spring it would be like the old days.

Your right Ocean Crest and all the other North and South Carolina Piers are down on the King Catches for 2005. The unusual cool water temps and wsw winds are'nt helping matters inshore or offshore. Tempature breaks are difficult to find even 50 miles out. Hopefully that situation will improve soon and the easterly winds will return. Ocean Crest Totals for Kings this year are about 30 off with a total of Three. The Cobia action
has been up though and more than doubled. Their keeper totals stand at Eight currently. Several undersized fish have been released. The largest so far for 2005 was a 54 lb fish a week ago. The average weights have ranged from the mid 30's to upper 40's. They have not left our area as of yet. The Leatherback Turtles are still transversing our Oak Island beachfronts. Todays OCP pier action also included a get away keeper Cobia in the 30 lb class.
