I was at seaview pier on north topsail yesterday and had 2 different blues blitz. around 5 oclock the blues went crazy for gotcha plugs. lots in the 5-10lb range. i hooked one the ripped the treble at the back of one of my plugs. then they stopped and picked right back up around sunset for about 30 minutes. we caught plenty off the end.

I fished New Topsail Inlet by the Coast Guard pier on Sunday. Caught lots of Pinfish of course, a Flounder, and a Bluefish. I could not fish the tide. But still good to get out.

Byrdman,

How much does it cost at Seaview Pier? Have you fished the other piers on the island? How about cost?
I've fished down on the Island about 9 years and never fished a pier.

sea view is the only pier I visit and it cost $6 a rod and there is no parking fee. The have a grill just above the pier house and the have rod rentals and lots of nice stuff.

my favorite topsail pier is jolly roger at the south end, fee is steep,10 bucks , but free parking and usually not crowded as it is deep into the beach front homes and away from main traffic areas. get there early to get on the end before the king fisherman arrive as none of them use rod holders and it is a trip hazard later. they usually clear out in time for the evening run though. also has a nice grill with all the usual ammenities and a really nice beach and beach access for the wife.for your ten bucks you get to bring 2 rods which is nice cause i like to sling a diamond jig after the spanish slow down and usually pick up a couple more that way but i hate to re-rig when only having one pole, or keep gotchas on 2 rods in case you get cut off when action is furious
