Departed Taylors Landing this AM aboard the ShelbyKatII with Dr. Ike and Chuck to target some Sheepshead at the 2nd. Tide was ripping pretty good with a South wind and made anchoring a bit difficult for the spot we wanted so we decided to go to the first island.
Anchored at the first, I begin to pull up dang blasted toads  and then we all started with some undersized togs on fiddlers. Shortly thereafter, Ike nails a Citation size Sheep for a release (What a beautiful fish) and then another for the box. I continue my undrsized Tog and toads while Chuck nails keeper tog to 18" and Ike landed a keeper tog as well. Just as the Tog/Sheep bite seems like it was hitting a peak, the rocks cut through the anchorline, so off to flounder drifting for a bit!
Made a few drifts at the 3rd and Chuck and Ike both picked up a 17" fllounder and I got a 18" croaker. Packed up and at the docks by 11am after stopping for a new anchor at Little Creek!
Great trip, just not the keeper fish for me today! Did hear of a small spanish bite at the cape.
By the way Omega had 4 boats out taking some menhaden already!  :--|
