Fished on the yak yesterday morning on outgoing tide at the Tybee Inlet. Loaded up with finger mullet at Jack Cut and paddled from the Back Pier and floated with wind/tide to the north side of Little Tybee. I would paddle back to the pier and start all over. Caught some nice sized whiting (all near the pier and returned them), 3 flounder (one keeper… supper last night) and 4 ladyfish.
Did not see any decent sized schools of bait. The birds seemed to be sleeping too. Had my king rig at the ready but never made it around front. All in all it was an awesome morning in the new yak! It is just a PIA loading/unloading the yak. I just need to figure out how to slow my drift a little more when the tide gets cranking. I also need to wear the ladyfish out a little more before bringing them into the yak. Near disaster if you have stuff laying about. I'm gonna bring my baseball bat next time.
