Not much new to report but since I went figured I would post.

Had the day off and figured what the heck, time to go fishing. I drove with rain showers all the way to the beach. Once I got there, it cleared right up. Was a nice day. Lots of sunshine and a nice cool breeze.

Started soaking bait at 10am and left at 3 right as the sky turned dark gray.

Had a few good hits but short upon arrival. Hooked up with two small blues on diamond jigs but lost both in the rocks.

Around 1:30 during the slack, croakers showed up for about 40 minutes. Hooked up with 4, all under 14".

Did see one small blue from the corner on a white bucktail, and one short flounder near the handicap pier. that was on a minnow.

The south side was full of activity as the construction company was driving the steel support beams into the ground. I can only imagine how loud it was on that side.

Also, the current parking lot and the old camping area on the north side will be closed soon. The new lot between the ranger station and the GC building is paved and painted. This close will happen in the next few days. So if you are going to go to IRI, be prepared to hunt for a spot as on good beach days, I am sure that the lot will be near capacity. I am not sure about overflow.

Until Saturday.

Well I was wrong about the wx today. We missed a fairly good day.

Nick,

Yeah, but it did look bad in the morning and in the evening. Better safe than sorry. Once you are on the water and the sky turns black, well you know.

Maybe next time.
