Well the weekend was dead. Hooked up on 2 nice spanish. Lost them both to holes in the net. The only thing we had coming in on the end were Blues, 1lb to 2lb range as well as some bait size. Several Spanish were caught with colored straws and gold hook jigs. They lost one of the pumps on the bait tank. Bring your bait buckets for the weekend. You never know what will happen.
Looks like more sand was pushed up under the pier. At low tide, you can walk out quite a ways and only be waist deep in water.

If you don't know it, there is a trick to making your chances better when you have a fish gaffed or netted. Most people tend to reel up the line as the fish is being pulled up, don't do this. Only took losing one fish for me to learn my lesson with this. When the fish is being pulled up, put the reel in free spool and relax. If the fish drops, you're still hooked up and can simply put the reel back in gear. If you're reeling line while the fish is coming up, when it drops all of the weight is put on the hooks and they pull. It's better to have the fish hooked and your line running through the net than it is to watch a meal swim away.
