Fished from 5:30-11:30am and it's croaker city!! I kept 15 between 13''-15'' and released about the same amount that's < 13''. Tried really hard to catch some blues but didn't even get a bite. I know they're there because 4 of the released croakers had either a missing chunk or bruised teeth mark and bait fish were swiming for their dear lives. I just think the blues suddenly developed a case of amnesia on what lures are supposed to be used for. Also, anyone that had squid with them did very well with croakers.
On my way home, I stopped by at SPSP and counted a grand total of 4 poles in the water. Some dude had some spot, perch and something else in their cooler that I'm not going to dwelve on too much. Let's just say I was looking for the man, but could not find one in the entire park.

Well I did not do as well as Tuna. I got to IRI around 9 right at the beginning of the slack. I stayed until 2. The current was coming in and so were the grasses. The wind turned SSE and made throwing lures from the North side a bit difficult.
I did get 3 small croakers that I tossed back. all on Squid. Did hear of a big dormat (around 28") taken near the GCstation, not sure if it was on a boat.
Flounder were in the bay, A guy next to me caught 2, both around 17" both went on live spot.
I had minnows and tried my green squid strips but no luck. Only hits that I had hits on were the natural colored squid strips.
there was a guy on the corner that was tossing orange squid strips/fish bites and was catching croaker as well.

At least I hope you didn't loose as many rigs as I did. Man, it was a bloody snag and pop day. I lost more rigs today than my last 5 trips combined...
It's good to hear someone catching something else other than croaker (believe me I'm not complaining). I saw 2 CR'ed rocks. Other than that, croakers, croakers, and more croakers.

I lost my share of rigs too. That is part of the reason I cut the day so short. Loss of rigs+ strong incoming tide+ hot day = :--|
I was surprised to see how few people were fishing from the rail despite the semil full parking lot.
I guess most were up near the bridge/jetty.
