I've heard many theories about when the best time to fish is in relation to the tide.
Some say peak of high tide, some say peak of low tide, some say during the changing of the tide.
I wanted to get y'alls input in regards to this to see what has worked best for you. Living some 10 hours from the coast, yes I know it sucks, :( I am unable to test each theory myself.
Does the tide depend on what type of fishing you are wanting to do?
Thanks guys & gals.

I've had most of my luck on a outgoing high tide when fishing beaches. If I am sight fishing along a seawall for sheepshead or fishing in the grass flats I prefer low tide.
Alot of it also depends on (I would assume) how deep the water is in your particular location.

ive caught fish on all tides. there definatly are patterns to the bite but it changes frequently. they may be biting on a higher incoming tide one week and a lower outgoig tide the next. if you go just fish the whole tide there bound to bite at some point and will probally bite at the same time the next day but if you wait a week they will probally be biting on a little different tide

the first two hours of any tide is the best time to fish, ie the first two of the incoming tide and and the first two hours of the outgoing tide, fish that pattern anywhere where there is tide change n i no u will have sucess

I was going to post the same thing as litetackle. I always try and fish the 2 hour rule. But I have caught fish on low, high. So you never can tell though.

If you are going to fish St. Simons and Jeykll.....
Fish SSI around the high tide and the outgoing.....
Fish Jekyll around the low tide and the incoming...
The tide hauls A$$ out of Jekyll....And vice versa.
