Litetackle, I moved from maryland too. I lived in salisbury, and fished the ches bay and ocean city, AI areas hard core. What are you trying to catch? Right now the water is pretty hot!!! So there is not too much going on. You can go out in the eve to the surf and try for some whiting or go to the piers in the AM and try for just about anything that swims. You can go to conway, by the sidewheeler restaraunt and you can walk around and do some fresh water fishing around in there. There is a place called hunnington beach that is pretty nice you have to pay to get in unless you pay for a pass then its a one time fee. You can surf fish here, or make the hike about a mile to murrells inlet and get into some good fishing there from the jetties.

I also live down here for school, though I am in Surfside, you can find good fishing at Hunnington Beach, You can also take the 45min. (from coastal) drive to Pawleys Island for some good flounder fishing, I fish the beach about a mile south of the Garden City Pier, there is good fishing there at the first access into Georgetown County, usually, flounder, pompano, whiting, blue fish, sharks and rays. I am actually going out there right now, if this storm blows over.

LiteTackleChamp... If you are looking for some general areas, check out the local piers. Flounder being caught on Apache with mullet minnows. There is a Flounder tourney on aug 20 at Apache sponsered by Bass Pro. this is only 20 min. from the school.
