Striperboy here, posting for the first time mainly for practice.I will tell you I fish at Martha's Vineyard every June for 2 weeks. Family vacation, but striper action is at night after all the sandcastles are built.I always catch some fish ,on the surf, at night, casting plugs...mainly bomber a-salt, mostly light colors.

This year In two nights, I caught about 125 fish, 80% keepers, all at night with surface plugs.

It was a dream come true, till one night, I realized it was 3:30, I was sweating and tired and still catching fish. I knew that my wife was sure I was dead on the beach with a heart attack, so I went home.

I should have stayed at the beach. "WHY DIDN'T YOU CALL?"" "You BASTARD"....I am quoting a women who normally is more balanced, but rage had set in and I was dead meat. I smiled and said "I caught 80 or so fish tonight, mostly keepers". She stormed up the stairs and slammed the door.

I got in the shower, then slept smiling on the couch, re-living every hit.

Next time, I will try and call, but if there is no signal, I will fish. These things only happen a few times in a lifetime and you have to go for it.

Largest 38" 80% over 28", sometimes 3 feet out,up there, the worse the weather, the better my luck. I am reading these posts, cause AI is a whole lot closer and I need to learn more about closer opportunities.

PS they were all released. Caught 4 -4 foot dogfish on that big night, one was snagged in the tail. The snagged dogfish faught bigger than the 38" stripers. Total about 150 for two weeks, kept and ate 3 fish....they are still out there, mostly.

Yeah, I have a good bit of pictures, I'll just have to figure out how to post them. Guess I could have one of my kids help. They do better with computer related issues than Dad.
