Went to Ocean city and stopped at the Route 50 Bridge. Reach Ocean City at 1am and started on the west side of the bridge. Used only BW fishbites and caught two small croakers and 1 decent sized spot. After about 30 minutes with no more hits, left and went to the Oceanic Pier and found tons of baitfish under the lights. Got a few hits, but nothing big. After sunrise, got a few spot here and there, but nothing consistent. Was about to leave, but then saw others catching some horse croakers. So threw a shrimp Fishbite out and got a horse croaker myself :D Saw some throwback flounder caught on minnows as well as tons of horseshoe crabs. Not a bad trip..

that is one thing I forgot to mention. At the oceanic pier, I livelined a live spot and had a few nibbles, but nothing big so i left it out....when i reeled it in, the baby spot was gone....might have been the crabs....or something bigger...

Try 50 bridge next time. Folks have been
buying spots from Skips B&T and having
good luck on large rock and trout.

Ok, hijacking a OC report, but regarding the Rte 50 Bridge...

Is there a place nearby to fish under the bridge with out having to fish from it. I noticed that the west side, where the old pier use to be is now what looks like a nice park. Can you fish from there?

What about "stinky Beach"? Any OC locals have any tips. I know the bridge is successful for rock and trout, but I have a hard enough time getting a fish in to my net from the Tank, I can only imagine addind 20 more feet.

Any ideas.

Thx,

I fished on the side of the road right before the bridge. There is a little canal that goes into the area near the parking lot. You can park your vehicle there after 5am till midnight. I believe the park is lots for houses to be built and off limits(?) If you go at night, I don't think anyone would bother you, but once again, I'm not sure. I'm only going off of what I've been told. One thing I did notice on the bridge were signs that say "No fishing from bridge" I assumed that people were allowed to fish from the route 50 bridge, but is it really ok? anyone know?

I'm not really familiar with stinky beach...

that area at the base of the bridge on the south side is off limits, you will be run out.
to get to stinky beach, take old bridge road, rt 707, to the bay. there is a sign, its called Homer Gudelsky park. its a state park area. you can walk to the same canal, or just cast out there

Ok. here is the scoop on the bridge. You can fish off the bridge 24-7. There is a section of the bridge that is on west side that is off limits. It is the portion that is a small craft boat channel. People fish it, but technically your not allowed. This year a kid got snaged in a boat by the arm, so they are cracking down on enforcement. Of course the draw span on the east side is also off limits. On the west side you can fish "under" and around the sides of the bridge. I have never been run off, and it is not posted. Fishing here can be very good at first light!!! However, they could be cracking down on this area too given the previous story I mentioned. The park on the south west side of the bridge where shanty town used to be... is fishable. I have seen folks fishing it, but don't know if you will get run off.

Don't know much about stinky beach, but hear the flounder fishing can be good here at time.
