Tybee 8/20

Well it was my first trip to Tybee and I got shut out :eek: .... but it was my own fault. I got their at 6:00 am, before the bait shop opened and got discouraged around 10:00am and left after 4 hours of throwing all types of plastics and every lure I had. I was not familiar enough with the island to know where to throw the castnet.The only good thing, was that nobody else was having any luck either ; but it was a good trip, Tybee Island wasn't exactly what I pictured, it was better. Are there any fall or winter runs of any specie of fish I can reach from the surf or pier?? I plan on making the road trip may be once or twice a quarter... depending on gas prices .... :cool:

me and my boys fished sat afternoon and early sun morning and i saw 1 trout but there were plenty of 9" whiting to keep us busy all total we ended up with 7 12" whiting and 7 crabs. the water is just really hot so fishing has been tough. we caught 20 small pompano in the breaking surf it was very calm. trout will pick up in sept when nite time temps fall and cool the water and a little hot water want stop us from trying.
