Sandy Point:

Fished 5 am - 3 pm, Wish I could say there was alot going on, but I can't. Drizzle all day, but the fishes were there, all kinds.

I was fishing on the point, and three others were around me. Some of the fish were ok in size were pretty decent size. The guys were using small J hooks and cut spot.

Me, I was using smaller circles (smallest 2/0) to 4/0 for cut spot. I was using squid, bloods, BWFB, and cut spot/perch. The bloods definately saw the most action. They did a lot better than I did.

The bait stealers were in full force, not sure if it was crabs, minnows or a combo, but I ended up with lots of bare hooks. They were even eating the red off the blood worm fish bites and leaving the white webbing. :--|

Oh well, I did not expect too much.

thanks for checkin in bud. I agree that there's something nibblin everything up out there, but I've also noticed the BWFB dissolve considerably faster thank the other flavors when the water temps are this high- maybe 20 min or so.

Otter,

I noticed that too. They disolve quickly.

I believe they have a time limit per water temp. You may want to check the website to confirm. I received a little info regarding, that you need to take them out of the pack and let them dry a little more and they will last a bit longer. Send an e-mail to the owners/producers of the fishbite and they will more than likely respond back to you and maybe even send you a free pack. Just my thoughts...

I believe most companies (well bait/tackle) welcome feedback, whether positive or negative to help improve their product.

Wanted to make it out on Sunday, but I kept getting this annoying buzz in my ear... when are we going out to eat, when are we going out to eat...where are we going out to eat....... LOL... :D :D

I was looking on the pkg. of BWFB and it says " best when used in sea temperatures above 65 dergees(F).

I've experimented with them some this year and I think the time before it's gone is more related to the little bait stealers than water temp. After it's been in the water for a bit, it gets pretty soft, and the bait stealers can suck it off pretty easy. I was catching bait spot at the Peake a month or so ago and tried all the different kinds of Fish Bites and the spot prefered the BW flavor by far. Even over real shrimp.

If someone is thinking their bait is just dissolving off, I suggest, as an experiment, putting a small piece on a very small bait hook. You might be surprised. As far as SPSP, there are some REAL small spot there amongst the other fish. I was casting for peanut bunker Sunday and caught a mess of them that were smaller than the peanuts.

I think the BW may get softer faster than the other flavors, but I might be wrong.

Used them last week in the surf (134th St) at OC . They worked extremely well catching well over 60 croakers, over 20 kingfish, 4 small trout and a couple of skates from one bag. What I really liked about them was that the crabs didn't steal the bait.

What was the size on dem hardheads and kingfish?

The kingfish averaged 10" - 12" (nothing bigger than 12") and the croakers averaged 12" - 14" with a few up to 17". No horses but no dinks either. The trout were all small, around 15". Those weren't caught all at one time. I fished 4 mornings and 2 evenings in front of the condo. The evenings weren't productive, just a couple of skates and lots of black flies.

Here's the beauty of fishing early in the morning.
