Fished CHP from 9:30a - 3:30p. Weather was cloundy, but pleasant. Caught a couple weakfish-one at 14". One flattie at 16". A few really small bluefish that kept biting the mud minnows in half until we hooked the minnow in a different spot and started catching them.
Caught a few medium sized spot on BWFB and a couple other fish I'm not sure it was. I had a spot head out on the big hook and got a run, but once I pulled up that dang skate, I took off the big hook and rigged it up for bottom fishing.
One guy had his pole taken into the water right over the fence. He was oh so lucky when that pole heading out to sea just happened to snag the line of a guy fishing further down the pier. He reeled in his pole and faught the cownose ray that took his pole into the drink.
I was packing up when some guy caught a nice 20+ inch flattie. It started to rain, so it was a perfect time to leave. All in all, it was a good day and a good risk taken considering the rain in the DC area.
