hey Talapia, I am with Mandingo on this, ya flat out stated stocking up for eating fish, me do the same with stripers, but since I am the only one n the house that will eat fish :--| , married wrong maybe, NOT, she let's me fish), but I'll fillet three or four decent stripers (if I am lucky enough to catch them) for "winter withdrawal" purposes. If the boss and the girls ate fish, me, might have 10 or so fish done up to get me through.

If it ain't wasted, it's all good!

Hey T I'm with you on this one. I'm a meat fisherman and eat what I catch. My whole family eats fish, all my neighbors eat fish. The reason I don't fish C&R is bacause I can't keep them. Right now I've got about 75#'s in the freezer. By the end of October I hope to add another 30#'s plus 20#'s of crab meat. That will carry me through to April when the whole thing starts over. Those 300 spot would make a nice fish fry for 15 people on some cold January afternoon.

Like i said (but i was joking) what the he!! you going to do with 250 spot. Well Eat them of course. One thing I learned years ago, if the bite is on, take advantage of it. Take what you want, but eat what you take.

I C/R most of my catches, because I dont usually land enough for a meal. But If i started saving my one and two catches I would have close to freezer full by now.

The DNR sets limits on certain species for reasons. Enough said.

i wasn't trying to start anything and i don't usually look at all the boards. nice catch, but all i was asking was what does a person, you were the chosen, do with all that fish. i know spot produce almost like rabbits. bbut i have never seen a haul like that except from a net boat. and i know what they do with their catch.

Reminds me of fishin for sunnies,blue gills and crappie when I was young pup. You do what you have to do. Family comes first. Think of the money you're savin by not buyin as much meat from the store. I do the same whgen it comes to deer huntin. Between bow, muzzle loader and shot gun seasons ya can stock up. Just for sh@*ts and giggles, go out and double what ya caught. Tight lines!!!! ;)

I consider Henry AKA Talapia a good friend of mine and a hell of a fisherman. I've seen him throw back some nice tog and as much as he fishes, he could have a lot more fish in his freezer than he does. I can honestly say that some people needs to spend some time away from the computer and go fishing. Cabin fever should have ended months ago.
