Arrived yeterday and almost started fishing as soon as it cooled down just a bit. Fished a little from the surf here in front of the beach house. Didn't really have much luck here although we did catch some. Had better luck when we switched from frozen shrimp/squid to FishBites.
Later that night I went down the Jekyll Pier. Things seemed to be going pretty well down there. Several people catching croaker and whiting. We caught several keeper whiting on squid. Saw several large rays caught of the end of the pier; one went for about 75lbs.
Caught your menagerie of other fish too; toadfish, eels, topsail cats. Had a good evening.
People were crabbing off the pier but from what I saw there wasn't alot of crabs being caught.
Okay. Now I'm here. Can anyone point me in the direction of where I can catch some flounder? Would LOVE to have some flounder filets to go along with the whiting.
Guys, I'll keep you posted re: the fishing.
PS-Planning on heading back to the pier tonight if the rain slacks off. I think it is supposed to be out of here by 9.
