Figured i would give it one more try before putting my surf rods away.. was out there from about 8pm - 10pm(that was all the time i needed). Not one thing touched my line cept for a few bluecrabs getting a free meal. If you would have told me at the begining of the year that I would not catch one single bluefish in the C. Bay all year, I would have thought you crazy. So I packing up my Rods and retireing for the year(well bay fishing anywho, may throw some light tackle in oct, for pickerels in some of the local creeks). This has been the worst year for fishing i think ive ever seen, come to think of it its been a pretty bad year in general from the gas prices to the tradgic events in New Orleans and other areas hit by the hurricane. Wake me this year is over im ready for a new one :)

be patient and they will come, its not their time to eat.
I was at point lookout and piney point on the 3rd and I was catching 9" SPOTS and 13" croakers
also caught a 14" blue and a smaller 9" blue
but there were soo many 9" spots it was great
waiting 2 hours isnt long enough usually the fish would bite in the morning, then around noon, then at night

According to Big Rad's fishing journal, you should have altered your fishing times to target the hours before and into dawn, as well as just into dusk. The night time was the right time for hardheads and spot. The trout of two years ago were caught in the morning as well as the blues. We also had the occasional kepper rock just at or after dawn. Go figure

East side of the Bay, and granted, the tide was wrong, but the best time to fish is when you got the time, so, three hours these necks, small spot and small perch. Now, that said, iffin' I can sneak out before the Boss gets home, may try again.
Have Jeep will travel :D

With this break in the weather and start of Fall season I'm just starting to get REAL excited about fishing again. To each his own I guess.

Yeah Bro, this time last year we were b*tching about the O2 count just like this year, but the fishing was a lot better. Got some really nice blue and spot about this time. The blue were a given and I looked forward to them croakin' yella bellies to break the monotony.
This year, for too long, SPSP's been a nursery. :(

For me it was a very productive year especially when I caught over 100 croakers on IA. I went camping the past weekend to IA and caught only two king fish and nothing else, the water were rough. Went to OC intel on Saturday and caught a big blue on a gotcha plug and that was it, the blue fish was caught in really deep and was fighting in full force. Some other people were catching huge croaker on squid.

I fished SPSP Saturday and Monday.
Saturday was pretty good. I caught a bunch of 9"-10" Spot and one that was 11". Also caught a few nice white perch.
Monday, same time, same exact place on the beach and got pretty close to nothing. I think that's just how fishing is. sometimes the fish are there, soetimes they're not.
