Hi i'm new to surf n jetty fishing . I was wondering if bigger blues and stripers are caught in the surf during these months? Also when do the tog start showing up in the inlets? Also can you catch stripers useing a finger mullet rig or is it better to use another type of rig or bait. Thanks in advance for any help .

Hi Lager and welcome to the forum. I can't help out too much when it comes to surf fishing but maybe I can of some help with jetty fishing. Blues, rock, trout and tog can be caught from the jetties. For the rock I don't think you can beat live eels. They crush them. For the blues I like to cast metal spoons and for the trout you can't beat fresh spot. The tog are caught up tight to the rocks using green crabs and sand fleas. Seems that the magic water temp is 50*. Below 50* pretty much everything turns off.Good luck out there.

What Catfish said,. If you can get on a head boat, hit the cape May rips with live eels and HOLD ON!!!.
