Took today off work to go out in search of a good fight. Stopped by my 'hole in Murrell's Inlet and netted some finger mullet. Loaded the truck back up and headed south to Pawleys. Got to the North Inlet and MAN the surf was huge. I have never seen it so bad there. We had a strong Northeast wind combined with High Tide was really making a mess. I baited my hooks with some cut Mullet and threw it out. Had a few decent bites but I think the Fish must have been scared off. After about an hour and a half of getting beat up in the surf, I went down to the south end. Not much goin on there either. Oh well. There's always next time.

Well, the place in M.I. isnt really mine.... someone here had reccommended it to me a while back. As you go south on 17 thru M.I..... right before Huntington BEach S.P. you will see a brown sign on your left that says "Oyster Shell Recycling" Turn left here down the Dirt path and go to the end. It opens up on the creek. Be careful at High Tide though, the water really comes up. Not much room to park but theres usually not too many people there. I'll be there again tommorrow, PM me your # if you want to wet a line some time.

The tropical storms and hurricanes way out in the Atlantic are throwing their energy onto the beach right now. With the storms out there and the NE wind compounding, makes for good surf.

Is there anyone else enjoying this cool break in the weather a little too much? Man, it's lovely. Can't wait for the water temps to drop down.

Thanks for the info on the live bait spot. loaded up on bait and hit the north end of pawley's this morning. Started off well with a couple blues but man was it sloppy out there. I walk out on the sand bar and i was just getting tossed around. Didn't see any reds.
