Fished IRI from 6:30-1:00pm) and caught 2 togs (15'' & 17''). These were babies compared to what others were pulling over the rails. Them "regular" toggers slayed them. Some had at least 9 in their sacks and they looked like a 100lb sack of potatoes.
After taking some beating on my tackle inventory (and my nerves), I decided to pacify myself by going to CHSP. All I had with me was 2 fresh bunker (to target lings) and a bag of BWFB. I thought to myself, will BWFB work on water temp that's below 65 (my guess is the temp must be in the 50's?). We'll, got me a nice hot meal and made it to CHSP at 3:00pm. I decided to use my 1 heaver on BWFB only. After 5 minutes, croaker on!! Some folks on my left used natual baits (I think squid and shrimp). They had 6 short poles total. So, I compared how I did and how they did. We'll, they caught slightly more than me (6 poles vs 1). By 7:30pm I had 13 in my cooler, so I guess BWFB works in temps way under 65 degrees. Oh, it was pretty cold out there too.
Oh yeah, did catch 3 nice sized lings too...
