Arrived at Rocky Point Park at 5:40am in complete darkness with stars and moon included in the package. Met up with Excalibur. It was about 33 degrees, with a very slight wind and calm water. The sunrise was absolutely stunning! Fished till about 10:30am (it got significantly warmer as the morning progressed).
No one (out of 6 anglers) even got a bite, but being present as the sun rose over Hart-Miller Island, was worth the price of getting up at 4am, without even a nibble to show for it. Also when entering the park, got to see a gray fox chasing his intended breakfast, (Excalibur I forgot to tell you), which unfortunately for him was a very swift, extremely coordinated rabbit. I was rooting for the rabbit and the rabbit won. Excalibur I enjoyed fishing with you. 50% of the pleasure I receive from fishing is just being there.
