Looking for some inside scoop from anyone who might know. Was thinking about using a credit I have w/ cabelas to purchase a reel. Talked to a
"product specialist" there to find out more about their "Salt Striker" line. When I asked who makes it for them (i.e. what manufacturer) he wasn't giving up the goods.
Anyone know who the manufacturer of the salt strker line is ?
In general, I'm partial to shimano but have thought about dabbling.
Thanks,
Ex

Did some research on it and found one "expert" say they were Daiwa... and another "expert" say they were Okuma. So.... bottom line? So much for experts.

I was on the site recently checking them out too. I also noticed they have a couple quantums out there the Cabo and the Boca. Anyone know much about them?

I'm looking for something to put on my 7ft StCroix, and my old reel is ... well, getting old, and it's also a little heavy for such a light stick. I use this stick for throwing mostly metal or 3oz + bait if it's not too rough a surf.
thanks,

I had a horrible experience with a cabo, it was my first and last dealings with quantum.

Wow .. I read at least 20 Florida fisherman and guide reports using them regullarly for a year without any problems.
What problems did you have?
