Went fishing Wed. night about midnight till 2am. Caught over 30 Ladyfish (they were so thick you could walk on them) on anything I threw at them. Also caught 2 keeper trout about 18" and thick, 1 nice 14" fat Mango and a Flounder.
Now here's the best part. I hooked into a big Snook and he snapped me off on a piling. About an hour later my buddy Blake hooked into a nice Snook that jumped about 3ft out of the water and shook the hook. Well, we were getting ready to go and I hooked on the last live shrimp that we had and dropped it down right on a piling and gave it some slack. About 2 minutes later my line starts travelling rapidly down the docks till the slack was gone. Once I realized what was happening I started pulling up to raise his head. I got him to the top of the water and he came out twice with flips, but for whatever reason he thankfully didn't dart under the pilings. I finally got him almost all of the way out of the water on the side of the dock and saw he was about 20-lbs and the thickest Snook I have ever hooked! My buddy Blake immediately dropped to the deck and started trying to handline him up since we didn't have a net. The 50-lb PowerPro sliced Blake's hands like I have never seen, and the Snook took the hook off the end of my leader and disappeared never to be seen again. That is, until I go back for him! It was fun coming soooo close to getting him on the deck, the biggest snook of my career. Here are some pics of the Mango, 2 Trout, and Flounder we kept, along with a few of the Lady's:
