Just curious, how many have conceal carry permits? I just went and took the class, aced the written part and kept everything within 9ring or better on the quailifying at the range. Hope to God I never ever EVER EVER have to use it but working out in the middle of nowhere all the time you never know who, or more specifically WHAT you'll run into. This past week I was working in the mts of NC and was 5miles by fourwheeler and about another mile by foot, one way from the truck. Not so bad, but tis the season to plant your cash crops:eek: . Meth labs and moonshine (not so much anymore, relatively openly made now lol) is tucked away in the hills.

So if you do carry, what do you carry?

Glock 22 (40 cal. standard size for those that dont know) here. Alot nicer, and more accurate guns on the market, but none any tougher and more dependable. Perfect for the muddy, wet, thick places Im generally in.

Yall guys up in New England/ Maryland are unfortunate to have stricter laws. I have a sheet of the recipricating states that NCs concealed permit coincides with and nuthing above Virginia is listed on there.

Off topic yes, but just curious.

went over to a friend's place last weekend and his mom, who stands about 4'8" tall, talks with a thick southern accent, and cooks sausage gravya nd biscuits every morning, was cleaning her 50 cal Smith and Wesson Revolver that she keeps for "self-defense" I was like "holy sh**". Those southern women: kill first, ask questions later.

Pick your poision,,, depends on what I am wearing and how bad the area is.

Colt Officers 45,,, small but BIG PUNCH

Browning Hi Power 40 Cal,, Med size

Browning BDA 380,, small but nasty

Ruger SP101 357 mag pocket rocket

And last but not least is a still unfired in the box
Browning/Sig Sauer BDA 45---same as the Sig Sauer P220,,, made back in the late 70s I believe.

And the scary part is the wife just did her shooting test and she scored 100 % and yea the 357 mag is hers

And if your thinking about breaking in the house the 12 year old daughter shoots better then most men and yea she has her own guns too.

And yes I do have a large gun safe so breaking in is a waste of time and could get ya

to get me a .22 to shoot. By doing diffrent things to earn the right. he's got a .38 after seeing the recoil I'm glad he wants to get a .22 for me to use. My first experience with a firearm was a.22 rifle at Boy Scout camp

S&W 5906 9mm, not a big fan of the 9 but it'll do till I graduate college next fall. Face-shot accurate to 30 feet, not that I'd try it.

got a .44 Ruger Super Redhawk with a 4x Leupold scope, but I think the limp from the weight of carrying it would give the concealment away

Gonna leave the rifle at home this year and tote the 44 deer huntin. got one or more with bow, rifle, and muzzle loader, need to add pistol to the list.

That thing is fun to shoot, lotta power, low recoil when its that heavy.

Fisherkid, are you still in Boy Scouts? If so what rank? I went through BS and earned my Eagle. Learned alot of cool things that I use every day. Never let anybody talk you out of it. It gets a bad rap from the homosexual leaders and stuff in it now but I never had to worry about that. When I went to college I was ahead of everybody else in my forest measurements class and silviculture class because I could read a topo map and use a compass and other sorts of skills...Low and behold I use a topo map every day for work to navigate in the woods, and a GPS as well, but a topographic background file on a GPS helps....Still have a compass tho just incase.

Hope youre still in and stick with it!
