Chopper blues were everywhere. No Kings Or Cobes. Chopper blues were caught consistantly both days. The choppers were strikng on the king rigs.
The pluggers were getting the smaller blues in the 1 - 2 pound range. They kept the bait tank filled for us. Water was too murky for the Cobes. Moderate winds on Sat. Harsh winds on Sunday with front coming in. All total if I counted correctly , There were 14 Blues over 6 pounds caught. I give 2 to another guy who ended up taking home about 60# of blue before cleaning. Over all a great weekend.
Saw 2 small spanish macks.....That was it for the spanish. I think they caught a few before I got there on Sat.
Met a couple guys from the board while there. Both great guys and had a blast fishing with them.

Kenny, As much as I love to fish, I can't eat fish anymore. Too high in purines, causes me a lot of problems. Not saying I'll never eat fish again , but not gonna waste it on a Blue. Not worth the pain.
Terry
Thanks for the report, glad to see ya getting some fishing time in.
Spanish be there too!
First hand report of 40 in the cooler just off the beach at the color change. Clark spoons on a planer. This was Saturday.

Clay,
I plan on doing more fishing this year ,than I got too last year. The older I get the more I learn that chasing the dollar only gets you put in the ground faster. I'm ready to FEESH this season.
Hawk,
Glad the spaniards ARE around. My biggest catches have been on king rigs. Good to hear you were successful this weekend too!
Ya'll take care

Not to get too far off topic...
Terry, that's what most people don't understand about me. They all think I fish too much instead of work all the time. I try to fish at least 3 days per week, freshwater that is. Getting down to the coast is a weekend thing for me. Obviously with a baby on the way I have to limit my time away from my wife, so my trips down there this year will be fewer, but I'll be down there none the less. But fishing is my escape from the everyday stress of life and whether or not I catch anything its still a relief.
Anyway, I had a great time fishing with you and King&strut, who btw also caught a flounder but it was a little too small to keep. We're definitely gonna have to plan another trip down in the near future.
