Hatteras Vacation

My Family and I our taking our long awaited vacation on the outer banks this year. We will be staying in Salvo from May 27th through June 3rd.

I was wondering if anyone could give me some input that might put myself and my niece and nephews on some fish. This trip is a big deal for us and we are all pumped!!.I only get to see them a couple times a year and I would really like this to be a trip to remember. I have fished the point a few times but have never ventured anywhere else while I was in the area. We will be there a full week so I plan to hit it hard.

I was also wondering if there are any places with public access to fish the sound side?....If I cant keep em busy with the fishin maybe I can keep their interest up with some crabbin while we are there. Any info would be greatly appreciated and we all thank you in advance!!

Salvo.. Rodanthe Pier would be my suggestion with young boys.. There should be plenty of bottomfish such as spot,seamullet,and some trout,blues,and spainish as well.. They may get to see a big king or cobe hauled up on the end as well..

There are several turnoffs between Salvo to Avon soundside.. Many are very productive,especially on a sw wind.. Small pinfish,specks,flounder,and pups..

The wife family got a rental the weekend of July 4 in Corolla and I'm forced to joined :rolleyes: . What are the typical species up that way? Do I have to go down south? I've never fish that way that time of year. Thanks in advance...

If you have pinriggin stuff,and I'm sure you do,Rodanthe is one of the best piers down here.. ;)
