Bart and I have been threatening to go fishin' together for quite some time, and today we finally made it happen at Vilano Inlet.

We fished the inlet, the north jettys, and the beach near jacksonville, and flat made a day of it.

We caught a big mixed bag of fish...among them Flounder, Pompano, Black Drum, Sail Cats, a Blue, a nice Ladyfish, a big Pinfish, an octopus (really), and a Black Bass.

Bart took home a nice mess of fish, and my contribution to the day was the Ladyfish, the Black Bass, and the Octopus.... I gave Bart no help in the 'eatin' fish department.

I had a great day fishing a new (to me) area and made a new fishing buddy to boot. I improved my casting, learned a new rig to tie, and did a fine job of feeding all our mud minnows to the Flounder, without hooking the first one....

It's OK, though, 'cause they'll be fat for next time.:D

I don't want to embarrass Bart, but he's a helluva good feller' and knows his fishin' and his area well.

Looking forward to doing it again, soon.

I've been threatening to fish that area for years.. but I usually end up at the pier or the shore flats across from the school for the deaf and blind.
