View Full Version : Oregon Inlet Fishing

Hello all,

Does anyone have a report on the fishing in this are? Or possibly anywhere close to Oregon Inlet(Morehead City/Atlantic beach). This weekend I want to go on a fishing trip where I'm going to catch some fish, Can someone please but me on the fish. Also if anyone knows of any hot spot where the fish are biting please let me know and leave a report if possible. Time is counting down for Memorial Day weekend and I want to plan, relax, and catch some fish!

..they are whacking and stacking em at Orgeon Inlet... IF you can get a boat out...it would be hard to miss this weekend with the new moon in effect..
...couse its about $1300 dollars plus tip to go...

I fished Oregon Inlet this past Saturday and the bite was on in a big way.

The skate bite and the black fly bite that is, both so thick I couldn't stand it.

I hope this weekend is a lot better.

Little bridge in Manteo is catching a few specks.. As far as OI,haven't heard,but I'm sure they are catchin bluefish ..

Speaking of OI....yall see the size of that tuna that everything but the head was bit off? any ideas as to what kinda biter it was? Makos are out there now aint they? seemed a little big for a Mako, unless theyre gettin some big ones out there?

Didn't see the pic,but Devin on the Poacher had a great white near his boat and had a video. That would be my guess if it was too big for a mako..

EDIT: nevermind, i answered my own question....somehow i missed the part in the caption that read "...mako of considerable size..."

I fished the whole OBX from the point in Hatteras to Oregon Inlet during the week of 15th-19th. We did not have much luck from the surf. I heard the piers hjad better luck. Good Luck! Let me know how it went.
