Hello everybody, just curious, does anyone know anything about the Kitty Hawk Pier potentially reopening? Perhaps maybe the Hilton Hotel is going to open it back up? I have heard many different stories as heresy, but was just wondering if anyone on this message board knew otherwise. Thanks! Tight Lines!

I'm not sure what is going on?? The barn door on the front of the pier house was open and folks looked as though they may have been working? I hope it's a positive thing, not sure as of yet..

they won't charge a small fortune to non-hotel guests and will allow king rigs!

Heck,if it reopens I know a few feesherpeople that won't worry about the price.Maybe they'll build a 1200'cement wonder.:) Maybe one could get a room at the Hilton and just walk out back and be at the pier :) ....the R

The local paper says that it will be open to hotel guests in a few weeks. It will be 200 feet long. The hotel rates at the end of September start at $150 per night.

..I believe there is a NC LAW that states ANY ocean pier must remain PUBLIC to some degree...someone correct me if I am wrong..I know the Sheraton Pier at Atlantic bch. was still public..til Ophelia hit it..

Won't do much good,Rollie,KH will just be a shell of it's former self.. Pierjunkee does have point though,Jennette's will probably be "pick of the liter" fer sure.. :D With that length pier, they should catch da heck outta some fish.. Only thing I see is that it will be state run, hopefully they will allow king and drummie fishin..
Hope you are right,PL,but Kitty Hawk township law stated that no building could build over 37 ft,and ya see how they skirted that one.. :D :p Ya gots money ya do like ya wanna do...

just think what you could do with an extra 1000 ft then :D  ...either way, be it 200 or 2000 ft, its goin to feel good to finally be able to get back on the KHP if the hotel allows it...tight lines.
