I stopped going to Iffy Lupe because I got tired of those guys coming to tell me I need flushes done. One time I did my x-mile maintenance at Midas and brought the car to iffy lube for oil change and the guy comes in and says "you need a flush done". I was like, "I did that two months ago!"
Iffy Lube... find a good local mechanic like a good local bait shop.

WE HAD TRANS FLUSHD AND AND THEY TOLD MY WIFE SHE NEEDED A NEW OIL FILTER AND OIL CHANGED ALONG WITH A AIR FILTER. SHE TOLD THEM TO HOLD ON WHILE SHE CALLED ME. I WAS WORKING UP THE STREET SO I DROVE DOWN THERE AND ASKED WHY. THE GUY SAID IT WAS DUE SO I WALKED TO MY TRUCK AND PULLED OUT A NEW AIR FILTER I HAD PUT ON 4 DAYS PRIOR STILL SPARKLING WHITE. I THEN PROCEEDED TO SHOW MY RECEIPT FROM THE OIL THAT I BOUGHT AT THE SAME TIME AND CHANGED MYSELF. THE GUY WAS LIKE UHHH UHHH SO I WENT TO THE MANAGER. I GOT FREE OIL CHANGES FOR A YEAR @ KEMPSVILLE RD VA.BCH LOCATION. I HAVENT BEEN TO ONE SINCE. I HAD BEEN TELLING MY WIFE TO NOT GO THERE BUT WE ALL KNOW WIVES HERE WHAT THEY WANNA:D WE DONT KNOW ANYTHING. IM GLAD TO SEE THEY GOT BUSTED.:D :D

I was taking my old car there and it wasn't even cheap because it took over 6 quarts so they were charging a lot for the extra oil. Finally took it to one of the local shops that I took it to for other work and found out that in order to get the oil filter out you either have to get under and take the sway bar off (4 bolts) to pull it from the bottom, or wait 30+ min for the engine to cool down enough to reach around it from the top(the filter was at the bottom). Quickly realized the past 2-3 times I'd been to Jiffy Lube I hadn't seen them take it out the top and definitely didn't wait long enough for it to cool off, and I know for a fact they didn't take my sway bar off. Conclusion: they never changed my filter, but I was charged for it each time. I never went back to make an issue out of it, but I haven't been back to a Jiffy Lube since, and won't ever. I'm not allowed to do work on my vehicles in the apartment complex that I'm at, but as soon as I get my own place nobody will touch my vehicles besides myself.

I honestly have to say that I've never been ripped off at the 2 JL's I've been to..1 on Rt. 7 in falls church VA (reg. oil change), and the other is on new Hampshire ave. in Takoma park, md near the DC line (I went to HS with 2 of the peeps, to do Tranny, axel, tranfer case fluid change) Maybe cuz I always walked around and watch as my sub goes in for the service. Each time the tranny get flushed, they alway have a problem because of the tranny cooler and I have to show them where to connect it..Knock on wood..
But I don't doubt it one bit that this sort of things happen..I avoid the gas station mechanics like the plague...they are the worst..

They can probably tell right off that you
know what they should be doing. Plus
you watch them.;)

had my wifes van done there couple years ago. Dorve it home and parked it in the garage. Overnight the oil leaked out. wife didnt notice and got in drove to work. I could see the oil traail about four inches wide go down my drive way out the court and down the street. I called jiffy lube and they said first it was my fault well after a few choice words and a call to the district manager O got them to meet me at her work put more oil in it oh yea after they replaced the now missing drain plug they forgot to tighten. Then they refused to pay someone to clean my garage floor and drive way. Well a quick call from my laywer got thier attention. So I bought some absorbant and a degreser then rented a power washer and cleaned it myself.
Then I sent themthe bill along with 300.00 in labor charges. Oh yea it was sent on stationary from my attorney (freind of the family) and after a phone call from the district manager complaining about the labor charge for which I responded that the oil stain did not come out completly and how would he like to replace the concrete in my garage and driveway, he reluctantly paid the bill.
You get what you pay for a bunch of high school dropouts that they hire and underpay with the baic knowledge of how to use a wrench and the end result a half assed job. I now use the car spa on holland and lynhaven (va bch) and have no problems they actually have cameras so you can watch them work on your car.
