Anybody tried and had any luck with the new line of Berkley saltwater gulp baits? I have been hearing lots of things about them but didn't know how good they work. I've seen where they now have added Mussels and Clams to the already long list (Shrimp, Squid, Fiddler crabs, Bloodworms, etc) Anybody care to comment on them and what colors your using?

Been talked about alot here lately. I have used the blood worms, sand worms, shrimp and crabs and they seem to work very well.

How long do they last? Seems expensive from what I've found on the net.

they work. they work good. color doesnt seem to really matter from what i can tell. 3" shrimp, 5" jerkbait, 3" pogy are my favorites.
stick the used ones, if they arent torn up too bad to use again, in a ziplock bag or an empty gulp bag w/ the juices. just dont leave em on the hook overnight...they will dry up and harden.

Have used the Bloodworm and the Peeler Crab and can say they work as good as the real thing and last a lot longer so as far as the cost goes they wind up being cheaper in the long run.

Two weeks ago I was fishing with two friends new Oriental, they fished regular soft plastics, I fished gulp shrimp and gulp jerk baits. When the day was over I had caught 6 nice reds, 2 specs, a blue, and had well over a dozen strikes I missed. My two friends each caught 1 spec and had maybe two other strikes each. Plain and simple, the gulp works well. They are a little pricy but provided that they aren't bit in half, they last a while.

havn't tried saltwater baits yet (i will in 2 days ) but at home fishing freshwater ponds my son was using night crawlers last night bobber fishing and caught only 1 or 2 blue gills until he ran out of bait. after that i cut a the tail off of of a gulp worm , still using the bobber he started caching them one after another . but dont leave them on the hook overnight (its easer to throw the hook away rather than trying to take it off).

The camo colored shrimp baits (Berkley) are very popular out here.
I can't get a fish to take Fishbites at all here and they work like crazy back East...
Probably because the fish here are Gay...
That's it! Only Gay fish bite Berkleys.. :D

I picked up a couple bags after reading a post on a Virginia boating board about them. The fellah who was reporting said he was fishing them almost like you would a Carolina Rig for freshwater bass.
I figured I had a ton of those rigs tied up already to use for bouncing cut strip bait, so I bought a package of 2" crabs, and 3" shrimp.
The first time out I was shocked at the number of fish we caught with them including a 21" flounder. The next time out I boated a 23 1/2" flounder fishing in spots I normally wouldn't have.
I am a beleiver, and can't wait to try the crab lure with just a hook and split shot fishing in Canadian Hole this week while I am in Buxton. I have hopes for big things.
THROW THE BIG ONES BACK
