Tried some shark fishing last night...
Hooked a huged ray on a shrimp on a pomp rig... it was a lot larger than the pier net I have... could not get it to go into the pier net ... too large...:eek:
Wanted a pic but all I got was a look and then when he would not fit the net I cut the line. He will fight again.
then the shark rod clicker started to run... stopped... then run a little... stop... I had a glow stick in a water bottle to see where it was... The glowing bottle was back and fourth.... My buddy set the hook and nothing... waited ..... drag clicked..... nothing.... Could tell the bait was still on. Click some more but nothing to set the hook to... We let it sit...
The biting bugs were a killer last night... Worst I have ever been in... I thought I would get carried away...
finally sick of the bites we packed up and a huge Blue fish was hooked on the shark rig... Looks like a bunch of blues were hitting about 6 inches of lady fish and not the sharks...
Oh well ... We will try again tonight...:cool:
