View Full Version : Stupidest post ever made cont....
Some of you may remember that I posted last yr about numbness in hands. Originally diagosed with carpol tunnell i did nothing. Well now both shoulders have pain as well as numbness in the left arm. Went to the Doc today and getting MRI on Tuesday and back to doc on Friday. So, after putting it off for a yr I hopefully will know something soon.

I had the same deal. Went a long time toughing it out and finally went for the CAT. Count on it he will tell you it is the C4-C5 verterbrate. He most likely will want to do a fusion. It sounded to me like something I really did not want. In the end i found out that pain is a great motivator. I had it done 6 weeks ago and feel so good I went out and bougth a kayak. BTY I am soon to be 58. If he says get the surgery and he has good credentials go with it.

Good luck Clay hope all ends up well, also hope you didn't get hit by a tick with lyme, progressive joint pain I'm told can be an indicator. Again good luck and good health!

Clay. You'll be fine. I still have problems with the seperated left shoulder I got from an accident last year, on top of having burcitis in that same shoulder and tendonitis in the left elbow. Hang in there and keep us up to date.

Chill out and take it easy.
Make sure and do what I do when I'm achey. Sit in an armchair chair and yell "FOOD NOW" or "THE KING THIRSTS!" or just "GRRRRR"
Thanks fella's, will post updates as I get em.

Well sounds like you have a job to do(train the dog) or grab the 12 pack sized cooler and put it by the chair.
Good luck on the MRI my guess is a pinched nerve of some kind. They can fix them just got to find them.

Whatever the reason,I'm sure getting it fixed will add at least 35-50 yds to your cast :D ......and no,the first words outta docs mouth will be "ya still smokin' ?"........I hope the tests results get this cleared up for you with minimal inconvenience ;) :) ....the R

Lst time I went to the doctor he told me to quit my job. YEAH RIGHT!!!!!! I've been doin it for 18yrs. Second in seinority, benefits, paid sicktime, vacation and personal time. I have what they call inconsistent blood pressure. It goes up, normal, then down and every other way you can think of. So like I said, Doc says quit your job. I asked him are you gonna pay my bills, rent etc? In my area unless you work for the township, county, state or you're a fisherman, you have to travel to Atlantic City to make money. I asked him where am I gonna go and walk in the door and get the money and package deal that I get. I'm NOT. So a blood pressure/water pill, and a pretty decent diet and I'm good to go.

and my MRI revealed degenerative damage in the c-3 & c-4 vertebrae - which pinched a nerve. I was miserable for over a year. Anti-inflammatory drugs finally helped me. Hopefully your diagnosis will not require surgery.

If you got a smoke switch to cigars (other people hate them but that's their problem) you don't inhale so the doc and Insurance companies treat them different. The problem is if it is the chemicals is what you are addicted to not the tobackie. Let me know if I can help. My son's day care will not be far from where you live.
Kim, glad to hear you are reovering well.
Digger, just got to set my mind to do it.
Went to get the MRI today two days late (thats another story:mad: ) and will find out whats up tommorrow I hope. Thanks for all the concern and well wishes from everyone.:)
Well, got th MRI and went to Doc and he said pinched nerve and no big deal, but I'm sending you to specialist.Well finally got to see the specialist today and I have two options.
1. Deal with it.
2. Surgery.
Going to think on it for a day or two and do some research but I really dont see option 1 as a viable option.
Good news though is barring any unforseen happenings that I would be back on the beach or in the yak in 2-3 weeks tops.

Hey Cdog,
Did you ever have an accident to cause this or is it degenerative? I'm just curious and I don't mean to pry into your bidness if I sound like it.

Pauky, I did take a header in the shorebreak a few yrs back but Doc couldn't say if it was from trauma or degenerative.
Jettypark, been dealing for 9 years and when I couldn't even hold a rod on Sat it got real annoying.
R good point. Thanks.
