The Redington Long Pier has been closed by the town because it is not safe. The town closed it Tuesday after tropical storm Alberto washed up some pilings. The owner of the pier claims that the pilings that washed up were not supporting the pier and claims the town closed the pier as a vendetta because he would not allow a fire works show on the 4th of July.
Anyone who knows this pier knows that the pier has been in disrepair for the last few years. The owner has let it go and doesn't fix anything. What a shame.
