Hit the beach last night at low tide with not much hope of catching anything other than a moments peace
. Using cut clam and the few fleas we could dig up we were able to bring in a couple of whiting of no size. Through the process of trial and error learning what works and what doesn't, I chunked a whiting and baited the hooks. within 5 min my wife had a nice 17" bluefish and 1/2 hour later I hooked a 15 1/2" blue. I've caught many blues in southern jersey and was surprised to see them still here in the summer. Always thought they were here in the winter and then followed the colder water north during the summer. Are there blues here year round or did we hook a couple of lost souls? Good fishing to all!
