well today the action wasnt quite as good as yesterday, but we did manage a few trout and a keeper flounder. We were using mud minnows again, but trout were hitting both those and flounder. we arrived about 7.45 and the tide was low appx. 9, so we fished a little of both tides. trout were hitting good rite before dead low, with about 4-5 keepers caught, mostly all on the bottom.
the flounder we caught hit a live mud minnow fished in about a foot of water my a piling
ill be heading back to the pier later on this week, most likely the weekend, so ill give another report then.
Good luck everybody!

Do you always use live for trout? Do you ever try jigging? I know I can't keep them off the hook when jigging up here for them and they are under me.

When I jig, I'm typically on a boat, but I can't see the planks being much different. I use a Daiwa 6' heavy action casting rod, with a Tica CM150 on it spooled with 50# PP. My most common jig is a 2oz Stingsilver, which I break one of the hooks off of. The trout and blues tear it up here.....When I'm on them the jig doesn't make it to the bottom without several bumps, if not a fish on.....

Get yourself some Gulp Shrimp, put 'em on a 1/2 oz. jighead, and see what happens!;) Trout can't STAND 'em!

Gulp Shrimp or DOA under a popping cork works really well on trout at Tybee Pier. Hard to work artificials any other way from there usually but I have caught some there on curltail grubs and a ton of them in other spots all around the islands.
As far as the jigging spoons, those are more of a Outer Banks/VA technique for deep water and for gray trout (known down here as weakfish or summer trout).

RR, any particular color?
I'd buy any that you can find...I was in two stores in Brunswick today, and pickin's were SLIM...
I've caught fish on every color I've tried. I really don't think it matters...except for muddy water, and then the white seems to work well.
