I will be the first to admit...I am not an expert flounder fisherman...But after a couple weeks of trial and error...I have come up with 3 pointers to help out the beginners like myself. Point number 1: Pay careful attention to the movement of your float or bobber. Flounder dont always sink the float. Sudden stops, changes in direction, circles, changes in the tilt of the float, and changes in momentum can all indicate a flounder bite. Point 2: You dont always want to set the hook at the first indication of a bite...depending on the size of the minnow/mullet, size of the flounder, and how aggressively they are feeding...you may want to wait for an uncomfortable extra few seconds before setting a hook...sometimes I feel better when I know theyve swallowed it;) ...Point 3: Most important of all aspects of flounder fishing...ALWAYS....I repeat...ALWAYS...BRING (AND USE) THE NET.
