Fished off and on from saturday till yesterday. Fished from the old bridge, st.andrews and from the beach. The big fish landed were a 3' bonnet head, and a stingray that was the same size as my 3' hoop landing net(I think they call em pier nets). The shark was on my 7' ugly stick spinning rod with a quantum reel spooled with 200 yards of 8lb test line. the stingray was on my other spinning rod spooled with 300 yds of 14 lb. test. I threw the fly rod some and landed a 18 inch blacktip, several trout and 1 flounder. other fish caught we aprox. 50 or so sharks in the 1 to 2 foot range, trout ,flonder, whitning, several nice spade fish, croakers, cats and some I do not even know what the were lol.. All were caught with fresh shrimp and cut squid. On the ugly stick I used a 3/4 oz. egg sinker a barrel swivel then a leader of 40 lb mono. to a size 1/0 circle hook. On the other rod I ended up useing a 3 oz egg sinker a barrel swivel 40 lb mono leader to a 4/0 circle hook. I tried a fisher findere or bottom rig but kept getting the dropper lies tangled up and caused me to loose some fish. I love those circle hooks. I did learn a new sond and it is a very loud "PING" that is the sound of getting spooled and your lin breaks. In between both rods I had to respool 7 times, my wife thought it was funny after the second trip to wally world to get more line,so she insisted on buying me 6 spools of 8 and 14 lb test line as a joke.
I need bigger rods for my next trip!!! You know it is a catch 22 you can use big rods and have no fun with the little fish or use lighter tackle and loose big fish. I did think it was funny after about my third shark from the beach I had about a 200 yd area to my self. no one wanted to swim near me!!!!

yeah, thanks for the report. I'll add my little spill from Sunday.

Fished in the afternoon off the Beach. Caught several sharks in the 2-3 ft range. There was plenty of baitfish running up and down the coast. Caught a 12" blue in my castnet and was all excited to have a good sized bait and a dang 2' black tip ate it up. Didn't get any bites on some fozen menhaden I had, but I finally caught some in the net and then caught several bonnetheads one after the other.

Almost hooked me a 200 pounder. Mexican that is. Some people have no sense. Lets see. Some guy fishing with with noone around for 50 yards on one side and 200 yards on the other. Let me put my stuff down right beside him and go out into the water and drift right in front of him (on more than one occasion). They finally moved after I caught a 3 footer.

They no hablo ingles. I tried.
