i hooked a BIG fish on the jekyll pier a couple weeks ago and i still cant figure out what it was i didnt land it but it jumped multiple times before finally breaking me off. ok it looked sorta like a king mackeral and a tarpon it was silver and it had little ridges right before his tail it looked about 5 ft. long. can anybody think of another fish this might be?..........besides a king mackeral?
Thanks:cool:

I SERIOUSLY doubt it was a kingfish, never heard of one being seen, much less caught at Jekyll. I have seen Tarpon a time or two from the pier, you may have tangled with one of those. Could have been a Spanish, but there ain't no such thing as a 5 footer.
All I can tell ya' is go back and try him again!

Maybe you got in to a big lady fish.
nevermind, you saw ridges aft of it's dorsal...

Either tarpon or ladyfish
