Here is my begginer rig for the first season :D
It is a Pelican Esprit SIK with one scotty, two flush mount rod holders and an anchor trolley. :D

Nothing in the world wrong with that. The best kayak to fish from is the one you've got. The second best is the one you want. I wonder if there's a spray skirt available for it. I also hope you have a bilge pump and know how to self rescue. I'm a SOT kinda guy cause I like rough water and I've been in a SINK that SUNK.

I have the skirt, pump, and paddle float. Also have four pool noodles inside for extra flotation just in case. I have taken her to the island on the HRBT, out through Rudee and Lyn. See ya out there.

Get a cheap blow up beach ball and wedge it up in the bow. This will help displace water and help with floatation on the front end.
If the time ever comes that you get swamped all the extra floatation will help out.
