I've been in Savannah 10 years, but have not fished (I know, I know...don't ask) Anyway, just got back from fishing in Ft. Walton at the pier. Caught Spanish, Blues, and some Hardtail on a bubble rig with a green straw. Also a few on a Gotcha- red head, silver body. Will these work at the local places reachable for us poor guys w/o a boat? Looking to do some fishing with one of my kids the rest of the summer. Any advice? Thanks

Being new to fishing the area I would do these things....1: Check with the local marinas. We have Bandys out toward the Landings...Adams just over the bridge from Thunderbolt...Hogans on the island....and Rays out on Tybee....Check with them to see whats hot and whats not...things change regularly in salt water....2: Designate what it is that u want to fish for...Acquire the appropriate tackle to fish for it....And most importantly( I know youre reading this mr. c) Learn the feeding and schooling patterns of the fish...this knowledge can be assertained by talking to the locals and visiting the marinas....we are more than happy to lend a helping hand or give a tip or two...(Just dont let us find u in our favorite hole in the morning ;) .... Also....lures and jigs will work...but for the complete salt water experience u just gotta use live bait. Its cruel but its natural...If u miss the fish at least he gets a meal:) . 3: Keep a constant eye on pierandsurf...we are the marinas and the locals..online:D ...Good Luck...
