Won't be going till next week. My buddy Mando just got off the south jetty with a 40" Jack.
Will have picture later.
Here is a picture of the jetty yesterday at high tide...

We get some pretty decent sized snook down here but our limit is 1/day and the slot is 24"-28"
the Texas state record is 57.50# the best spots are down in South Padre since the bays at the tip of Texas have our only mangrove stands.

Jetty Park, you gotta go some day but it is a long trip and you need to have 4wd to get to the awesome spots down south. Best to have somebody to clue you in when the weather and the fishing are primo like in the fall. You gotta be careful driving too. After 20 miles of not seeing another soul you're focused on the surf and the zone just beyond & only glancing at the sand ahead now and then when you spot 3 hot body naked chicks in the edge of the surf as you start to glance back at the beach . About 5seconds later the 3 beauties are charging your truck shouting and waving arms etc, Your lucky day? Yes and their boyfriends too who were passed out on the blankets after a night of  and:fishing: .

I have two and started fishing them with 110 grm(3.8oz) weight. The rod felt like it wasn't loading to it "full" potential. I switch to the 130 grm(4.6oz) when I am using a double dropper. Feels a lot better. Rod loads really good. As for the recoil, there's none to speak of.
I use a Daiwa 30 SHA with 20lb and a 50lb shock leader.
I own a HDX and us the back cast with that. That rod is one powerful animal!!! It's pretty cool to watch a bait hit the front side of the third bar.
Good fishing.....
