the worst feeling ever is pulling into the parking lot late at nite. i have finally reached the ocean. i unpack my fishing gear anticipating the coming dawn. i wake up and walk down to the water as happy as ever only to have all my daydreams i had back at school in TN shattered by either loads of seaweed or that green algae mess. :mad: :mad: anybody know if either is bad around panama city right now??

Like clockwork baby:( april and may are always the worst time for the weed the only thing to do is to hit the pier. by june-october it will clear out alot but for now all you got is the pier, the shipping channels, or offshore all you will catch in the surf is 50+# of Sargassum.

(oh yea and it smells like $H!t :--| )

so what is the real name for that think green gooey algae? not the sargassum but the junk that looks like snot during a sinus infection

Dunno I have always just called it green algae/snot/cr@p/$h!t/gunk/pain in the @$$ to get off my line! :--| I just hate the stuff :mad:

Nasty, nasty stuff...I usu. don't make it down that way till Sept/Oct, but a good blow will stir it up pretty good. It's not so much the grass that stinks, it's all the slugs and other creatures in it! Catch some fish from the pier, then go catch a salad to go with it...:spam:

haha i might. only problem is that all the piers there are too short to reach out pass the goo. dan russel used to, but it doesnt now that the pier got uh...shortened u could say by the storm

Future oil deposits??? Somebody figure out how to turn Sargassum weed into gasoline and there will be a sudden shortage of it.
